Manchester Marathon 2019 in support of Joining Jack

18th January 2019

We’re delighted that Sales Executive, Simon Hall, from our Wigan site will be running the Manchester Marathon on 7th April in support of Joining Jack.

There won’t be many people in the Wigan area who haven’t heard of Jack Johnson. He’s the eight year old son of former Wigan Warriors stalwart Andy Johnson and his wife Alex. In 2011 Jack was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an incurable muscle-wasting disease. This devastating disease will mean he will no longer be able to walk by the time he reaches adolescence and will lose the use of every single muscle in his body thereafter.

Since Joining jack was formed, Andy and Alex have organised countless fundraising events ranging from the increasingly popular Wigan 10k and Half Marathon to bike rides and are even involved in the Dubai Rugby 7’s, all to help fund research to find a cure for Jack.

Any support you can offer would be massively appreciated and go to fuelling Simon’s motivation to complete this toughest of tasks. To make a donation please go to or google Virgin Money Giving and search “simon hall manchester marathon”.Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated!

19th December 2018

In the summer of 2018, Amy Bradley of the Leonard Cheshire Foundation approached us with a fabulous idea! Amy is an Intern on the Leonard Cheshire award-winning Change 100 employment programme.

Her idea, as a result of her passion and talent for music, was to form a Choir of those who receive care with Leonard Cheshire We were delighted to be able to assist and the past few months have been an incredible journey for those involved.

They sang to a packed house at the beautiful Arley Hall and Gardens last night and got everyone in the perfect Christmas mood.

We thank and wish everyone all the very best for the festive season and New Year.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed - 13th to 15th July 2018

3rd September 2018

Throughout the decades of Corkills existence, Motor Sport has been a significant part of our identity. And that continues to this day. Managing Director, Adrian Kermode, has been competing for over 20 years winning many races, rallies and hill climbs.

Adrian’s recent rally took him to the Goodwood Festival of Speed of which only special cars are invited to the show stage of the event, a true honour to be a part of. An invitation to showcase a rally car at the event in fact raises the car's value! With over 75,000 spectators each day, the event was spectacular in every aspect. Adrian was driving the Vauxhall Astra GTE, as driven by British former rally driver, Russell Brookes, in the 80’s.

Adrian and his Vauxhall Astra GTE will also be at this month’s Rally Isle of Man Historic 2018 between 13th and 15th September. We wish him all the very best!

Where it all began in 1991

12th July 2018

The very first Corkills Garage in Onchan on the Isle of Man 27 years ago today. Our Managing Director Adrian is pictured on the right.

Corkills Garage first opened it's doors in the 1930's with Bert Corkill at the helm. Adrian worked for the business in the early 80's before returning from some time in London and purchasing it in 1991.

With a reputation for outstanding customer care, Corkills Garage would ultimately become the Group we know and love today.
